Response to Climate Change
Response to Climate Change
PAHSCO has carried out measures to reduce power consumption and carbon emission in compliance with government policies since 2005. We record the GHG emission every year, disclose our GHG inventories and provide the information regarding our response to climate change to interested parties.
As climate change has huge impact on numerous sectors, PAHSCO keeps eyes on international trend and uses TCFD to formulate corporate CCC risk assessment and responsive strategies, based on which we build the management system and enforcement projects with an aim to fulfill our CSR and protect the earth cology.

Type | Climate-related risk | Financial and non-financial impact | Opportunity | Response measures at the present stage |
---|---|---|---|---|
Physical risk | Extreme climate event | 1. Typhoons and torrential rain causing transportation and operating issues, resulting in low revenues 2. Unstable water supply due to drought, leading to reduction of output or interruption in manufacturing work 3. Higher energy demands, resulting in increase of operating costs and carbon emission 4. Higher safety and health risk in the workplace |
1. Improve the ability to mitigate the CC risk and reduce operating cost 2. Develop the rainwater recycling system to reduce water consumption 3. Develop energy-saving production process and improve the production efficiency 4. Enhance employee training and manage the key technology of mitigation |
1. Formulate a plan for work from home and shifts 2. Activate the natural disaster response mechanism to help employees understand response projects and measures 3. Use water-saving equipment to reduce civil water consumption, install rainwater tanks and recycle rainwater for irrigation to save water resources 4. Set up the conditions for turning on air-conditioners in order to save energy 5. Use LED tube lights to reduce the indoor temperature and save energy |
Risk related to changes | Policy and regulations | 1. Stricter carbon reduction management and regulations of the government, resulting in extra costs 2. Procurement of new equipment for energy saving and carbon reduction, leading to a decrease in costs |
1. Properly use the official benefit and programs of carbon reduction and implement carbon reduction strategies 2. Strengthen management measures and practically increase energy efficiency |
1. Actively develop green products and make a long-term plan to boost revenue growth 2. Disclose our GHG emission, examine the potential risk and opportunities, formulate responsive measures and establish goals to implement them stage by stage 3.Replace the diesel boilers with natural boilers to reduce carbon emission and save energy |
Market | 1. Development of green products, resulting in higher R&D costs 2. Low availability of green materials, posing a challenge in the production process |
1. Use innovative green design, products and service to expand the market 2. Build a green supply chain to improve our competitiveness |
1. Collect green product information in Taiwan, gather innovative green ideas and establish the environmental sustainability program 2. Improve green procurement and management, upgrade production technology, exchange views with customers to facilitate communication and increase product competitiveness |
